Youth Ministries Philosophy
We believe children have been entrusted to their parents by God, and our desire is to assist parents in teaching their children about God and the salvation He provided through Jesus. We believe parents are the primary teachers and caregivers for their children, but we also want to minister to children whose parents are unable to provide that teaching.
We want to help parents and their older children as they move through the adolescent years into adult life by providing teaching and service opportunities that will allow young people to come to a knowledge about God, and mature in their walk with God.
At 9:30 AM we offer Bible study classes for youth 7th through 12th in a variety of ways. Often, we have a 7th and 8th grade class, and a separate 9th through 12th grade class, but once or twice a year we will do something different like meet separately as guys and girls, or offer other electives.
At 6:00 PM on Sunday nights, our Youth Group, Teens 4:12, meets for a time of fellowship, Bible Study, and prayer. This is an excellent opportunity for students to interact with each other, receive solid Bible teaching, and ask important questions during this critical phase in life.
At 7:00 PM, our Growth Groups meet in several different homes in the Xenia area. This is a great opportunity for us to come together, regardless of age, and learn from the Bible and from each other. Contact us to find out how to get involved with Growth Groups!
The purpose of 412 is to have Biblically grounded teaching for anyone in 7-12 Grade. This teaching will meet the children at their level of Biblical knowledge and seek to supplement their home teaching to bring them a further knowledge of the Bible and the Lord's teaching. We will encourage them to be an example to and disciple others, both now and in the future.
Our title is taken from 1 Timothy 4:12, which says, "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity." It is our hope to so encourage the teens of Calvary and the Xenia community. If you have any questions, feel free to email us at Teens412Xenia@gmail.com.
